We also rented a regular fishing boat, and it came with its own live well, which was a real bonus for keeping our catch. A nice little detail we didn’t expect: the anchors are on pulley systems, so you’re not muscling them up and down by hand all day. Your back will thank you.
For getting on and off the water, the docks are nice and boats can be launched right here. And when you come back in with a good day’s catch, they’ve got a very nice fish cleaning station on site — a real convenience if fishing is your main reason for coming, which for a lot of folks up here, it is.
The One Thing We’d Change
We try to be honest in every review, so here’s the only nitpick we could even come up with, and it comes with a caveat: the docks would look a touch more polished with the weeds along them cleared out. But here’s the thing — it was the dog days of summer, and the owner was out there every single day pulling weeds. They just grow back that fast in the heat. So it’s less a complaint and more a testament to how hard he works to keep the place up. That’s the whole “negative.”
Everything else about our stay was a genuine pleasure, and it’s why we came back a second time.
